Haircut and hairstyle try-ons
How does the MyTryons hair try-on work?
Upload a clear photo of yourself, pick an occasion, and browse women's and men's style sections with face-shape top matches. MyTryons generates a full-replacement preview of the cut and colour on your photo, with a before-and-after slider to compare. Uploads expire automatically after 24 hours.
Does the hair try-on work for men's cuts and beards?
Yes. The Hair studio has a dedicated men's section with short cuts, fades and longer styles, plus beard-only edits that leave your hair untouched. Men's and women's styles are shown in separate labelled sections as soon as you pick an occasion.
Can I preview textured and protective hairstyles?
Yes. The catalogue includes a Textured & Protective group with styles such as locs, twists, braids and natural coils, marked with their own tag inside the women's or men's sections.
Can I keep the cut but change only the hair colour?
Yes. After a preview is generated, use the spoken or typed refinement bar and say something like "keep the cut, make me blonde". MyTryons regenerates the same style with the new colour, and each refinement counts as one render against your plan allowance.
Makeup try-ons
Can I preview both natural and full glam makeup?
Yes. The Makeup studio offers intensity levels from natural to full glam, and can generate three automatic palette variations of the same look so you can compare them side by side — arrows on mobile, a grid on desktop.
Can I change one makeup shade without redoing the whole look?
Yes. You can edit a preferred lip, eye or blush shade and MyTryons replaces only that slot in the result. Complementary colour advice stays in sync with the palette you actually rendered.
Does MyTryons recommend real products for a look?
Each finished look includes a Get the Look section with product-family suggestions and links to search major beauty retailers. Some retailer links may be affiliate links, which are disclosed on the affiliate disclosure page.
Tattoo and piercing try-ons
Can I try a tattoo without uploading a photo?
Yes. The Tattoo studio includes a catalogue of adult body templates across placements such as arm, forearm, leg, neck, back, collarbone and hand, with skin-tone and build choices. Templates are available within your plan's render allowance without uploading anything.
Can I preview a tattoo on my own photo?
Yes, with two requirements: a paid membership and verified-adult status. Upload a photo of the body area, choose a design and placement, and MyTryons renders the ink onto your skin. Uploads expire after 24 hours.
Can I preview a cover-up over my existing tattoo?
Yes. Cover-up mode analyses the existing tattoo's size, angle and darkness, then renders a bolder design placed to conceal it, with a before-and-after slider. It works on the built-in cover-art canvases and on your own uploaded tattoo photo. A tattoo artist should confirm what is achievable on your skin.
Can I preview piercings too?
Yes. The Piercing Studio uses the same canvas rules as tattoos: templates within your allowance, or your own photo with paid membership and adult verification. You can preview placements and jewellery finishes before visiting a piercer.

How much does MyTryons cost?
New accounts start with a seven-day full-access trial. Afterward, Free includes 3 generated previews per month with watermarks. Paid membership is $9.99 / month with unlimited previews, no watermark and saved history, or a One-Year Plan at $99 one-time with no auto-renewal. The trial never charges you automatically.
What happens to my uploaded photos?
Source uploads expire automatically after 24 hours and are purged. Facial analysis is temporary and server-side, used only to guide styling — it never infers or stores identity or sensitive traits. Generated looks you explicitly save are kept separately in your look library.
How accurate are the try-on results?
Generated previews are styling references, not guarantees. Real salon, product, tattoo and piercing results depend on your hair, skin, artist and products. Use previews to narrow choices, then confirm with a professional before committing to a permanent change.
